Comments/Observations: The council has been providing a food & fuel voucher scheme under its Household Support Fund Scheme (HSF) through both the Government grant and council contribution since June of 2022. Across the 2023 calendar year the value of vouchers issued exceeded £270k. The HSF scheme is now coming to a close (October 2024) and the available funds are falling. This decision is to try and ensure vouchers remain for those families most in need of support through to March 2025. Decision:
To reduce the number of vouchers per qualifying family from 3 of each per annum to 1 of each per annum. This does not affected access to other welfare support e.g. York Financial Assistance scheme (YFAS).
